Who Needs SKSPS?
The scheme is compulsory for the self-employed in the Passenger Transportation Sector, which includes taxi, e-hailing, and bus drivers.
Effective from January 1, 2020, the scheme was extended to cover 19 other sectors, including:

Eligibility and Contribution Plans
The scheme is open to any Malaysian citizen or permanent resident who works for themselves to earn a living, with no age limit.
Payment Options Contribution payments can be made on a monthly or yearly basis. Payments can be made in cash at all SOCSO offices or online via the official portal.

Your contribution is based on your selected insurable monthly earnings. Here are the current plan options:

The Protection You Receive (SKSPS Benefits)
The SKSPS provides robust protection against self-employment injury, offering several crucial benefits:
- Medical Benefit: Receive free medical treatment at SOCSO panel clinics , or claim reimbursement for the cost of treatment at non-panel clinics.
- Temporary Disability Benefit: Paid if you are on medical leave certified by a doctor for not less than four days (including the day of accident). The rates range from a minimum of RM30.00 per day to a maximum of RM105.33 per day.
- Permanent Disability Benefits: The benefit rate is 90% of your selected insured monthly earning.
- Constant Attendance Allowance: A fixed allowance of RM500 per month is paid to insured individuals who suffer from total permanent disablement and constantly require the personal attendance of another person.
- Dependent’s Benefit: If an insured person dies as a result of self-employment injury, dependents (such as a wife and children) are paid a monthly benefit at a rate of 90% insured.
- Funeral Benefit: Provides RM3,000 or actual cost for funeral management.
- Physical or Vocational Rehabilitation: These facilities (like physiotherapy and wheelchairs) are provided free of charge.
- Education Benefit: Provided in the form of loans to a dependent child of an insured person who dies or is receiving periodical Permanent Disablement Benefit payments.
