Suppose you are unfortunately infected with the Covid-19 virus, or if you are declared close contact with Covid-19 positive, and you are asked to be placed on quarantine or home surveillance, how should you apply for your leave? And how is the salary or pay arrangement?
Employees placed on Quarantine/ Home Surveillance
Category 1: Covid-19 Positive
Employee is tested Covid-19 positive and is instructed by the Health Authority to be placed on quarantine, he is considered to be on hospitalisation leave with pay for the duration of his quarantine
Category 2: Tested negative, being declared close contact with Covid-19 Positive
Scenario I: Instructed by Health Authority to be placed on quarantine/home surveillance
Considered to be on leave with pay**, additional to annual leave eligibility

Scenario II: Employee self-quarantine without instructed by Health Authority OR by Employer
Considered to be absent without pay
Tested neative, being declared close contact with Covid-19 Positive
Instructed by Health Authority OR by Employer to Quarantine / Home Surveillance
How is the salary / Pay arrangement?
Option I:
Paid 50% of employee wages
Option II:
The employee takes annual leave or unpaid leave for the 50%
The company grants him paid leave for the remaining 50%
