Modifications have been made to Section 60K, which deals with hiring foreign workers. In the past, companies that hire foreign workers were required to notify the Director-General of any new foreign hires and provide information within 𝟏𝟒 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞’𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞.
However, as of the 2022 modification, employers must now request the Director-prior General’s consent 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 hire foreign workers. Employers must also give the Director-General 𝟑𝟎 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬’ 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 if/when they 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 foreign workers.
