Policy Brief: Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

National Human Resource Centre (NHRC) has stepped forward to carry out a study on Policy Planning for Flexible Working Arrangements in Malaysia.

Objective:

• Highlight the importance of developing a new labour policy and potentially amend current legislations to accommodate such policy

Policy Planning on Flexible Working Arrangement (FWA):

1. The implementation of flexible work arrangements (FWA) will improve people's life satisfaction, and strive to achieve a work-life balance
   
2. The study found that organisational and personal initiatives that improve an individual's ability to balance work and non-work roles not only increase work-life balance, but also improve overall life satisfaction, which can help improve the quality of work
   
3. A study of Policy Planning for FWA in Malaysia by the NHRC highlighted the importance of developing a new labour policy and the possibility of amending existing legislation to accommodate such policy
   
4. In order to understand the problems and challenges of implementing FWA in Malaysia, the data collection methods of the study were through surveys and Focus Group Discussions
   
5. The final report and results will be published by the end of June 2021 as a reference for HR practitioners and the public
